As a practicing SAM professional, I spend a significant
portion of my time developing, improving, &/or integrating business
processes within unique IT environments. While I by no means need to become
fully credentialed by the Business Process Management Association, I still use
their methods on a daily basis.
My point is this: Until the Institute for Technology Asset
Management introduced its “next generation” SAM credentials, SAM certificate training
has ignored – & continues to ignore – this critical skill set. Instead,
SAMs are being handed generic processes/methodologies that more often than not
do not apply to their unique corporate culture.
Effective business processes evolve to fit very specific
needs in highly diverse environments. They do not “plug in.”
